Hello, fellow human! Life hack: Always scroll down.
Okay, enough fancy letters. What do I really do?
ost of my childhood has been rooted around memories of getting things on paper – to be more specific, drawings of circular human heads with scrawny sticks for legs. Luckily, I added more human parts as I grew up. Illustration and design, in a way, is how I navigated my way through – hashtag it – life.
I am Mariel Empit: an illustrator, cartoonist, and graphic designer residing in Manila, Philippines. Currently, I am finishing my senior year in college at the School of Design and Arts of The De La Salle-College of St. Benilde, a task that has taken up most of the world’s supply of caffeine (this is accurate). So far, I’ve been sinking my knees in design projects and loving the heck out of it.
My goal is to help people communicate their ideas visually and solve problems using design solutions. Ultimately: to try new things, make mistakes, and work with rad people. Ringing true to my childhood, I work best with my hands.
And a whole lotta yadda:

Brief 'about me' description not enough, huh? Well, there's a hearty heap of my story on my 'About page' — including my resume, how I got started in art, and why you should work with me. Head on the page by clicking the button right down here:

My work schedule is a continuous race between creating, creating, creating and actually reminding myself to update stuff online. I try my best, bro. Here's my portfolio (well, the best bits of it). See what I've done and what I'm up to so far:

y main website (this thing right here) serves as my official Portfolio site. Special shoutout to Bibliotheca.com for the paper texture on my header! The fonts I used, courtesy of the forever convenient Google Fonts, are 'Gentium Book Basic' and 'Walter Turncoat'. Built the site from the ground up with 5 hours of font-choosing, furrowed eye brows, and a year's worth of web-design knowledge. Although as much as I want this little space of the internet updated, I'm a lot more active on my social media platforms (hello, generation sterotypes). Find me here (don't be too shy to say 'hi'):
In a bit of a hurry?
Here's a quick download of my resume and portfolio,
